ABOUT THE Crusaders
WHO WE ARE
The Illinois Crusaders is a club high school football team open to any homeschool, public, and private school athlete in the Chicagoland area. The Crusader football program was started in 2011 by D.R. Callentine, to whom we are forever grateful. Roger Scott took over as the Football Athletic Director in 2015 when the program was under new leadership. Roger is a father of 10 kids and eight grandchildren and has been married to his wife, Lisa, for over 35 years. Roger has good forecasting skills from being an Illinois home builder for over 30 years and earning his degree in communications from Bethel University in 1982.
The Illinois Crusaders exists to help young men develop the character and skills they will need to succeed beyond high school. The Bible is the cornerstone of our program, and players will build their knowledge of God's Word even as they learn about the sport of football. Ultimately, players will discover what they are capable of physically, spiritually, and mentally. Players will learn the following values in our program.
Sacrifice. Discipline. Preparation. Standard of performance. Perseverance. Teamwork.
Coaches and players will be held to these values daily on and off the field! These values will serve all our players if they wish to compete at the next level in football, academics, and all other life challenges. Our program is about growing young boys into men who know what they stand for and have the confidence and conviction to stand for God's truth, as described in Ephesians 6:13-17.
Our team is privileged to play our home games at the Aurora Central Catholic in Aurora. We travel across the Midwest region for away games and end our season participating in the Annual NHFA National Tournament in Panama City Beach, Florida.
