Who We Are

The Illinois Crusaders is a high-school football program open to young men from homeschool, public, and private schools across the greater Chicago area. Established in 2011 by D.R. Callentine, the program was built on a vision of developing character, integrity, and excellence both on and off the field.

In 2015, Roger Scott stepped into the role of Football Athletic Director, bringing decades of leadership and life experience to the program. Roger is a father of ten and grandfather of fifteen, has been married to his wife, Lisa, for over 35 years, and has spent more than three decades as an Illinois home builder. He also holds a degree in communication from Bethel University. His steady leadership, servant-hearted approach, and commitment to excellence continue to shape the identity of the Crusaders today.

Our Definition

The Illinois Crusaders exist to prepare young men for life after high school. We use the Bible as the centerpiece of our program, teaching players to appreciate the game of football while developing spiritually, mentally, and physically. Our goal is for each athlete to embrace and reflect the core values that define our program:

These values guide every practice, meeting, interaction, and game—forming habits that lead to success in football, academics, relationships, faith, and life.

Where We Play

We take great pride in hosting our home games at Aurora Central Catholic in Aurora, Illinois, and traveling across the Midwest to compete against top programs. Each season concludes with a special highlight: our trip to the Annual NHFA National Tournament in Panama City, Florida, where we compete on a national stage and celebrate the growth, brotherhood, and hard work of our athletes.
